First
post-Soviet years, were the most difficult years in the history
of the Armenian sport of hearing impaired. Government reduced
financing the society of hearing impaired. The society started
its fight for survival. At the same time, entire sport infrastructure
in the country turned to commercial route. The rent for stadiums,
halls and areas rose considerably. This, naturally, led to lingering
stagnation of the Armenian sports of hearing impaired. However,
not only organizational and financial problems caused the crisis,
but also the social collapse that took place in Armenia. In
the terms of unemployment and poverty the sports for the hearing
impaired citizens of the independent country receded into the
background.
